His grace brings out the best in you

Titus 2:11-12

For the [remarkable, undeserved] grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to reject ungodliness and worldly (immoral) desires, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives [lives with a purpose that reflect spiritual maturity] in this present age, (AMP)

While some Christians believe that their mistakes and their pain have been the greatest teachers in their lives, the Word of God brings a completely different perspective: it is the grace of God that is the teacher of the believer!

The church often teaches that when you stop sinning, God will accept you; but in fact, it is God’s acceptance of you that gives you the ability to stop sinning!

No human being ever really changes until someone will accept them for who they truly are and still believe in them. If a rascal ever meets a woman who will accept him for who he is, she will drain all the rascal-ness out of him! That is why one of the greatest things a woman can give her man is grace. Giving him peace even when he doesn’t deserve it is powerful!

Anyone can judge another and take revenge, but it takes a spirit of grace to trust God with a person who has wronged you. Of course, that doesn’t mean letting people walk all over you; putting boundaries in place is vital, but when your whole attitude is, “I give people what they don’t deserve.” You are in a position of strength, because grace is God’s tool for change.

The fear that if God allows people to “get away with it” that they will continue to offend is not supported by Bible revelation, because it is, in fact, grace that teaches us to reject ungodliness and abandon immoral behavior. It is the same principle as expressed in Romans 2:4 “…the goodness of God leads you to repentance”

All the time you remember that there are legitimate reasons why you should be going through a hard time right now, remember the grace of God. He still wants to do you good. His is not the voice that condemns you; His is the voice that talks about a hope and a future that is blessed and glorious.

His grace makes you want to please Him, to say no to the wrong things and yes to the right things. His grace makes you want to try harder and do better – not to impress Him, but just because you love Him. His grace brings out the best in you. Enjoy His grace today!

Pray

Heavenly Father, your grace is so precious to me. You give me far more than I could ever deserve. You continually bless me in spite of my mistakes. You are so good to me.

Thank you for your remarkable grace. The awareness of how good you are to me melts my heart. Thank you for believing in me and lifting me up continually.

Thank you for the presence of mind to show grace to others and to give them more than they deserve. As I do so, I trust you with my own wellbeing. As I take care of others, you take care of me. Thank you, Lord!
