He is the Lord your Shepherd

Deuteronomy 11:26-28

See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse—  the blessing if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today; the curse if you disobey the commands of the Lord your God

The most valuable thing in my life is the voice of God. There is no substitute for God’s instruction in our lives. Sometimes believers become unstuck because they try to imitate what someone else did in response to God’s instruction to get a quick blessing in their lives. If you give away your car and your money because you saw someone else do it, you will end up broke and walking!

Act when you hear His voice and not before! But when you hear Him, make sure you line your life up with what you hear, because that is where the blessing lies.

When God gives us His Word he sets before us two things: if we obey, by default we choose blessing, and if we go against what God says, we limit ourselves to the natural realm where the cure operates. Life in the natural realm is frustrating, unrewarding and unfulfilling, because the law of sin and death governs that realm, but we are called to live in the circle of God’s blessing. Did you know that you don’t have to pray to be blessed when you do what God tells you? When God gives you a Word, the blessing is already on it!

What is your relationship with God’s instruction? He is your shepherd and He has been talking to you about some things. How are you doing with the execution? It could be concerning an attribute that He wants you to develop, or simply an adjustment He wants you to make. Are you working on it, or have you parked the Word that God has been talking to you about?

Obedience is one of the fastest ways of stepping over into increase, healing and blessing of every kind, because the currency of obedience is trust. If you want to say you trust God, show me your obedience. You will obey someone whose love you are secure in. If God is your security, we will see it first in your actions, and secondly in your results.

Consider thee things today and decide to trust God on purpose. Make a decision that He is eternally good to you, and that your obedience is the smartest response you can ever give to Him. Yield to Him, your Good Shepherd today!

Heavenly Father, Thank you that you are the Lord, my Shepherd When you speak to me, I know that I can trust you enough to obey you, because you are the good shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep.

Father, where I have lost sight of your instruction, would you bring it back to my remembrance? Would you show me your chosen path for me once again so that I can obey you? As I obey you, I KNOW that I will be blessed and I thank you for it in advance! In Jesus’ name!
