The naturally supernatural life

Proverbs 3:13

Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding

As believers we need to make sure that we can tell the difference between godly wisdom and super-spirituality. Not everybody who quotes the Word is genuinely carrying the wisdom of God. There are some people out there who are so heavenly minded that they are earthly useless! Even though they might sound spiritual, they are out of balance. God’s intention for us is that we walk a genuinely supernatural walk that is born out of New Covenant wisdom for life.

A crucial breakthrough comes when we understand that some things are not spiritual, they require an understanding heart to perceive a natural answer. We complicate things when we over spiritualize them and we don’t arrive at the right answer. For example, someone might tell you how a massive satanic attack on the bank resulted in them getting fired from their job there, when really you know it was because they showed up late for work every day! They seem not to understand that, since their over-spiritual answer actually obscures the wisdom they need.

It can be comical and poignant at the same time. Someone may assert that she needs prayer for her husband on account of his “Ahab spirit”, but what she really needs is to go back home and hop in the sack with him! If she does that, she probably won’t need to cast any devils out of him, and she may even find out that he can talk in tongues after all!

Maybe your wife is acting up right now and you are praying for her day and night, yet you haven’t talked to her for five weeks! What makes you think that she should be the same? Call off the prayer meeting and arrange some uninterrupted one-on-one time so that you can connect again. You will find that it wasn’t a spiritual issue at all!

You may not need to believe God for healing; you may just need to drink water and eat vegetables! And instead of binding the exam paper so that there will be no questions on it you cannot answer, how about studying?

Walking with God means that something supernatural is taking place very day, but it is never spectacular. We are not supposed to live from miracle to miracle, or to be seeking a manifestation of the gifts of the spirit every two minutes! The nine gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12 are primarily to reach the unbelievers, who need an outward sign that God is at work. When we live by the Word, we don’t need a miracle all the time, or a prophet to point us out and tell us what God is doing in our lives. We have the Holy Spirit lighting up our path and empowering us every day.

In every place in your life where you are all tied in knots trying to make something happen that isn’t happening, ask Him to give you natural understanding as well as spiritual insight into the real key issues today.  Genuine answers are simple, and they work! Get ready for something naturally supernatural in your life today!

Heavenly Father, thank you that you are supernatural and not just showy. The things you do work, and the answers you supply are powerful and genuine. Today I ask you to open my mind to the real issues at stake in my life. Show me the simple truths that I need to act on to get the breakthrough in my life. Thank you, Lord!

I love this one. I was walking around asking God to heal this body for a very long time. Then one day I heard, ‘you’re already healed, you just won’t exercise.’

I’m not consistent with it yet but I consistently pay attention to exercise. I’m also getting betterer and betterer.

    Thank you!!
