If you work it, you can increase it

Matthew 25:29

For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance;

This statement of Jesus’ is strong enough to offend some people, but can I suggest to you, that if you are struggling with it, maybe you see yourself as one who has nothing and needs a hand-out?

Whoever told you that you were deficient and born with nothing lied to you! We are all born with something from the Lord: something we can use to work with in order to go higher.

The parable of the talents shows clearly that the reason God gives us something is because he expects us to increase it. You may not have been born in a palace, but if you are like David, who knew how to work his insignificant-looking sling and stone, you can end up there!

Talent is not the determining factor in your success. Talent is what you start with, but what your abundance does not come because you started with a lot; it comes because you are prepared to work with what you started with, however small or great.

You can start out as a one talent man, but you can become a ten-talent man if you want to be. What matters most in your efforts to achieve mastery is not your IQ or your education, or your EQ, or your environment, or even your demographic, it depends on two key factors:

  1. Your conviction that you are going to make it. That you will be the last man standing and you will be able to lift your hands in victory because you were destined to win.
  2. Your grit and determination to stick with it no matter what. When you decide that you will not surrender your vision to circumstances, nothing can stop you.

If you get beaten once and you are already ready to quit, you are not going far in life. Life will test you, and let you know what kind of person you are. I strongly suggest that you develop a defiant spirit that will not yield to discouragement, failure, or opposition. Don’t let go of the dream you have of success and abundance. You are an eagle and it is your destiny to fly!

Pray

Heavenly Father, thank you that I am an eagle and it is my destiny to fly high! Thank you that winning is my birthright and I am destined for success. I will not yield to any kind of discouragement, depression or set back. If I fail I will get up again because you have not finished with me yet. There is victory and there is increase and there is abundance of good in my future! Thank you, Lord!
