How to believe God

Luke 1:38

Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Did you know that your response to the Word of God is VITAL for your outcomes in life?

The moment Mary accepted the Word that the Angel Gabriel brought, conception took place. We know it was immediate because Jesus’ cousin, John was six months older than Him, and the angel told Mary that Elizabeth, John’s mother, was six months pregnant. As soon as she said, “Be it unto me according to your Word.” The angel left. His work was done.

Let’s compare that to when Gabriel had visited Zechariah, John’s father, six months earlier. He had immediately questioned the Word and voiced his uncertainty. In fact, his response showed that he gave little weight to the message that Gabriel brought. He wanted more than the Word to convince him.

Gabriel was ticked off. Not only that, but he was presented with a problem. If Zechariah continued to speak out his doubts and reservations, CONCEPTION COULDN’T TAKE PLACE!

Gabriel took emergency measures and Zechariah was struck dumb until after his son was born.

Can God rely on you to speak according to what He has said He will do in your life, or are you working against your breakthrough because you are so under pressure? Will God have to shut you up for your miracle to come to pass?

God’s greatest pleasure is to be believed. In fact, it is impossible to relate rightly to God unless you give the proper weight to what He says. That is why it says in Hebrews 11:6 that without faith it is impossible to please God.

Notice what God accomplished by the Word that was mixed with faith in these two instances: two babies were conceived by people who had no chance of it working! Mary had no sexual relations, and Elizabeth was barren. The Word of God is the incorruptible seed which is able to bring fruitfulness and productivity in the very area you have given up on.

Take hold of the Word about your situation today and give weight to it. Don’t ask for any more evidence other than the fact that God said it, and that settles it. Let Him know, “Be it unto me according to your Word!”

Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word, which is incorruptible seed in my life. Your Word is able to bring about fruitfulness and miraculous answers, and I celebrate your Word today.

Regarding the things you have spoken to me, I receive those Words as true and weighty. My decision is that I believe your Word over what it looks like and I declare right now, be it unto me according to that Word!  Thank you, Lord!
