Staying in step with God

Exodus 40:36

Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would go onward in all their journeys.

When God led the Israelites in the wilderness, a cloud stayed with them by day and a pillar of fire by night. When the cloud lifted and moved on, whatever they were doing at that precise moment, they had to pack up and journey onwards. It was time to move.

If the greatest thing in their life was enjoying the manna, and eating the quail, they wouldn’t be ready, and if they weren’t ready, they were in danger of being left behind. Yet their protection and blessing depended on them staying with the presence of God in the cloud.

Whatever God has been doing in your life up until now, don’t stop to eulogize it, get ready to move, because He is about to do something fresh in your life. Don’t get stuck over one thing, one experience, however good or bad, or one season; there is something more on God’s agenda for you than you have seen thus far.

Opportunity is never completely lost. It simply goes to the person who is ready. And often opportunities come suddenly in God’s economy. If you are tied to what you are going through, and you can hardly keep your head above water, you may miss your door of escape.

When Elisha prophesied in 2 Kings 7:1 that tomorrow at about this time, things would return to normal after a time of prolonged famine, the officer on whose arm the King leaned couldn’t believe it. When it happened as Elisha had said, the officer didn’t get to enjoy it, because to him, it just sounded too good to be true! He failed to respond to the thing that God was doing.

One day Joseph sat in the prison, and the next his season changed abruptly and he found himself in the palace, being promoted to second in command. As he went, he washed and changed his clothes, just as Ruth also did before she presented herself to Boaz. Don’t get so stuck in your trouble that you can’t loose yourself from it. Don’t identify with how things have been. It’s time to get ready and be ready for things to change.

You are so close to your breakthrough! If the pressure is intensifying, it is not a sign that you are going down; you are on the verge of something breaking loose.

Are you ready to make a shift to your new season? The devil can sense that things are happening for you, and that is why he is trying more than ever to get you fixated on your trouble.

He is trying to blindside you. Things are about to change in your life. Don’t sleep through a revolution! It’s time to get hold of the Word like never before and to be alert. This isn’t going to be something that you can access via a group booking. You will have to know what God is saying to YOU!

Whatever is going on right now, stay calm enough to let the Word enter your heart and bring direction. As Christians, we have not believed stories and fables. We must come to this conviction: Our God is REAL! And He is on the move. Will you go with Him?

Heavenly Father, thank you that your Word runs swiftly through the Earth, and you are bringing aa door of escape in every place of trial and temptation that I am facing. I believe you on purpose, once again today. You are REAL and you are faithful, and you are powerfully at work in my life.

I declare that, by your grace, I am ready to move when you move. I take my eyes off the circumstances and the pressures and I fix my eyes on you today. Thank you for the suddenlies that are about to take place, not by might, not by power but by your Spirit. Thank you, Lord!
