Boldness has genius

1 Samuel 14:6

Then Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, “Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the Lord will work for us. For nothing restrains the Lord from saving by many or by few.”

It’s puzzling why God works with some people over others until we understand that God is looking for someone who will take action. That is why He chooses a courageous person with flaws over a timid person who is better. Jonathon is a case in point. He was bold in action based on what he believed and God honored him. The truth is that you cannot receive the power of God if you are passive.

Believing is an action based exercise, based on the confidence that we have in God, His Word and our standing in His presence.  Accept that He is who He says He is and that you are the righteousness of God in Him. Take your eyes off yourself and how you feel about it, and let faith rise. Sometimes your life may be on the line, but when you act on the Word, God moves.

For His covenant promises to be manifested, someone must act. Jonathon knew that the Philistines had no covenant and he was ready to act on his. He didn’t even know for sure that it would work out in his favor, but he was tired of the bondage and he was ready to do something different. The power is released in the execution.  If you know more than you are doing, you are in an area of deception. Don’t be an academic, be a doer of the Word.

The quickest way to develop any virtue is to act like you possess it. Take God at His Word and put on His character and nature. If you can change the way you act, you can change your outcomes. Every action has a corresponding harvest, so make sure that your actions are in the best interests of your future in God.

It’s insanity to keep on acting the same way and expect different results. If you always attract a bum, stop putting out the bum vibes. Act differently. Change the way you dress and the way you carry yourself.  Put out some distinction vibes and get a man of honor.

Why don’t you be the exception to the rule? When you know who you are in Christ, you don’t have to conform to the stereotypes. Others are fearful to break out, but you don’t have to be. Your actions will always supersede your emotions. You can be the first one to get a PhD in your neighborhood; and the first one to be healed of that medically impossible condition that your doctor has ever seen, because you act on the Word.

Pray and decide

Heavenly Father, thank you for your covenant promises, and thank you that I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I stand before you right now without any fear, guilt, shame, condemnation or inferiority. I am authorized to walk in health, strength, good character, wealth, promotion and favor, and in the fullness of every promise.

Right now, I decide that I will not tolerate less than these things. I won’t tolerate being pushed around by life, or being subject to my circumstances. From now on I am having the outcomes I desire. Thank you for the wisdom to change my actions to set myself up for success. Thank you for the courage to take a risk and do something different, and for your direction in what to do. Thank you in advance for the good harvest! I give you praise!
