Have you heard the true gospel?

Romans 1:16-17

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…

The power of God is contained in the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you aren’t seeing a breakthrough, you don’t need more fasting and you don’t need to try harder and work more, what you need is more gospel. In other words, you need to get a clearer revelation of who God is and what He has done.

When the gospel is preached, salvation will be the product, because God’s sole intention with mankind is restoration to Heaven’s original pattern. Healing, deliverance, protection, soundness, nothing missing and nothing broken will be the natural outflow of the preaching of the gospel. Don’t tell me you are preaching the gospel if people who listen to you are in fear and bondage. If you are preaching the gospel, somebody ought to be made sound.

It’s so easy to get a wrong understanding of God, especially because not everything that is being preached in churches today is the gospel of Jesus Christ, since not all of the Bible is the gospel (which means good news).

The Bible is a book of progressive revelation. You don’t get the full idea of who God is from the book of Genesis. You must follow through the books to understand God’s nature, His character and His way of doing things. You can know the whole Bible but still be in error, because you don’t know how to rightly divide it and therefore you still come to the wrong conclusion about who God is.

If we relate to God through His commandments and righteous judgments, we will live in fear and condemnation. Some things were written so that we should learn and gain in wisdom, but we should not expect God to engage with us that way.

So many people study the Bible, but are still fighting to the right to be sick, broke and in bondage. It is possible to know the Bible but not the God of the Bible since He is not an academic exercise. He cannot be studied and analyzed; He must be revealed and believed.

Many people are yet to even hear the real gospel: that you and I are not subject to religious law, but that we live by faith. There is an absence of rules under the New Covenant.

Because of the fear that when rules are lifted, people might run wild, preachers preach “sin” and judgment. They have failed to understand that no person has ever been brought into the Kingdom of God, or even made into a better person out of a sense of condemnation. It is the immense, relentless and outrageous goodness of God that actually leads a man to turn from his life of rebellion. The revelation that God gave us His very best, when we were at our very worst, is the only thing powerful enough to change a person at the core.

That is why we are not going to let shame or fear stop us from preaching the real gospel. When people are allowed to know God for themselves, salvation will break out in their lives.

Heavenly Father, thank you so much for the true gospel. Thank you for revealing the fullness of who you are: your goodness, your mercy and your grace, which flows from your throne because of the blood of Jesus.

Today I am asking you for fresh revelation of who you are, especially in those areas of my life where I need a breakthrough. And as I touch other people’s lives today, please give me a way to communicate to them the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you, Lord!
