There is no such thing as standing still in life. It’s impossible for anything in life to stand still and be without motion, because living is moving. You are either building your life, or going backwards, you are either growing your faith or getting weaker. There is no such thing as staying the same! When you stop bringing something new to the table, we can tell you are dying. If you stop giving, you stop growing.
Learning to give is going to be necessary for your progress in life. Acts 20:35 tells us that It is more blessed to give than to receive. The greater blessing is on the giving side.
If you remain need minded, you won’t break the cycle of lack. If you continue to focus on the receiving side, you won’t receive. The only way to make sure you receive what you need is to give first. If you want a happy home, be the first one to make peace. If you want a great marriage, learn to forgive; if you want healing, go and pray for someone else to be healed.
Whenever you release something you set yourself up to receive something. You don’t have to worry about receiving if you are giving something. When you give you are automatically set up for receiving.
If you want to be mature, you have to decide not to be upset about giving. This is a powerful key to your advance, and it will take a conscious turnaround in your thinking to get there! We have all grown up in the world’s system which is all about taking and making sure that your life is sustained by yourself and your own efforts. The truth is that none of us is truly capable of taking care of ourselves. Our needs are so many and varied and they change from season to season. It is impossible to be self-sustaining in life and the sooner you come to the end of yourself by realizing this the better!
When human beings crowned themselves their own God, taking care of themselves became their own business. Have you fired the One whose responsibility it is to take care of you? Are you carrying your own cares and worrying about your own needs when you are out of your depth? As long as you take care of yourself, it will never be enough. Not only that but you are holding on to something that you should be releasing.
The secret of life is to minister to someone else and to sow and to give generously and without fear of being unable to sustain our life because giving is the trigger to receiving and having our needs met. Trusting God is not mysterious; it is giving all our cares to God for Him to work out as we work His system of giving and receiving, because that is how we will make progress in our lives. Tell Him: “Lord I give you every concern of my life. You are my God. You take care of me!”
Some people are nervous about even talking this way because they feel that living in lack demonstrates humility, but it is not greedy to want what God has already said we can have. Greedy people want everything that doesn’t belong to them. Covenant people don’t want to leave anything that belongs to them on the table.
We are covenant people and God’s promise to us is life in abundance, to the full, until it overflows. (John 10:10 AMP) Get ready for the overflow in your life as you take your focus off of taking and get onto the giving side, and let God be God in your life!
