Humanity has believed that there isn’t enough room in this world for all of us to prosper and attain to our maximum potential. We have bought the lie that if one person prospers, that means he has robbed me of my opportunity to prosper and if the person next to me is promoted, it is at the expense of my turn to be promoted.
But this is a perversion of the way the world has been made. The Earth is a highly organized spiritual planet, created such that there is an abundance for every person on it. When God created Adam, He didn’t place him on the Earth until He had already prepared a garden for him. That garden was bursting with natural resources.
God did not create you and place you in the Earth without a portion being prepared for you. All that you need and all that you could ever desire is available, because it is God’s will that no good thing be withheld from you. Psalm 34:10, and Psalm 84:11 tell us exactly that, while Romans 8:32 reasons: “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
Out of the mouth of two or three witnesses let every matter be established. God’s will for you is abundance, but you will never experience it until you know what it is to open your hand and freely distribute.
Proverbs 11:24 tells us: One person gives freely, yet gains even more;
another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty
Natural instinct tells you to store up and withhold your resources, in order not to run out. God’s way is to give freely and generously of all the resources in your hand. If you are always in need or don’t seem to have enough, it may be that you are always looking to receive instead of giving.
In the Kingdom of God, if you see someone enjoying something that you would like, or doing something that you would like to do, or owning something that you want, don’t allow yourself to feel desperate or resentful. James chapter 4 warns us that this is the root cause of strife and arguments. Instead, go out of your way to celebrate with that person. Be a source of blessing and encouragement to them. As you do so, God makes room for you to go there too.
As soon as you realize this, you won’t have to make room for yourself by competing and pushing others down, or by withholding what you have for fear that it is all you will ever get.. You won’t have to feel jealous or rejected. You will understand that no one can steal your portion, and your way towards what you desire is to resist fear and instead to make your whole life a seed. Many people would prefer to look to another man, spin and make deals, rather than to operate the laws of sowing and reaping.
If you believe God, you won’t need to manipulate other people. You can sow your way out just like everyone who has received a breakthrough; but where there is no seed there will be no harvest.
You must learn to release with what is in your hand, whether it is finance, love, friendship or the power to promote, celebrate and bless others. I found healing when I refused to focus on my own pain but instead to invest myself in another’s wholeness.
It is your privilege and responsibility at work to make your boss look good. As a wife, make sure you add value to your man by making him appear even better than he is. Raise up others by nurturing them and passing on what you know. If you don’t engage with others in this way, you will stay average.
As you embrace this principle, new levels open up to you. Opportunities that you have been fighting to attain to for a long time, will suddenly present themselves to you, because in making room for others, you have just made room for God’s best in your life.
Give your best today and endeavor to be excellent because God’s WILL, like it was for Ruth, is that eventually you would OWN the field where you are simply gleaning at the moment.
