How to have peace in your home

There is a grace available to bring peace in your home, and your committed relationships. It’s called the anointing of understanding.

The ability to understand a person and a situation is the greatest asset you can have. Understanding is the greatest of the seven facets of the Spirit of God as listed in Isaiah 11:1-3, because it is the factor on which everything else depends.

People assume that we see life with our eyes, but that isn’t true – we see life with the eyes of our understanding. (Ephesians 1:18) Our understanding is the lens through which filter everything that happens around us, and what we see then determines how we deal with what is in front of us.

What is your understanding of the people in your life? If you have a stalemate and an unresolved quarrel somewhere, there is a lack of understanding. You need the eyes of your heart to be enlightened so that you can see what you haven’t seen up until now.

Maybe you are not even trying right now to understand your spouse because you have concluded that it is impossible for a man to understand a woman! But 1 Peter 3:7 tells husbands to dwell with their wives with understanding, which in turn will empower them to give honor their wives for who they are.

Your life must be lived through the lens of who He is and what He’s done for you and what that means. As soon as you start to understand that God will always set you up for blessing in your future, you won’t be so afraid and angry in life. You will be able to trust God and trust the value of the people He has given you.

As you live by faith in Him, then you access the grace that makes everything work together for your good. There is so much favor extended towards you that even if you mess up completely, God will still bring it round and bring your best interests out of it for you! You have to understand that!

You can afford to extend the same grace to the people in your life. When I have an issue in my home I have learned to remind myself of this vital truth – my wife is a good woman. If she saw something that has made her upset with what I did, she isn’t just trying to pull me down. I need to hear her out, because she will have a valid point!

This is how understanding comes! It won’t hit you from nowhere, you have to make room for it. You have to have the humility to say, “I messed up didn’t I? Show me what I did.” Now if you are stuck in self-centered assurance, where you refuse to give credit to another person’s perspective, and that is just the end of it, then you are not ready to operate in this anointing! The root of every long standing relationship trouble is precisely that!

If you want to get to a place where understanding replaces strife and quarreling, you will have to make room for the perspective of the other person, and allow the Spirit of understanding to come all over you. Imagine what would happen if, instead of always telling your kids the way it is, how about if you listened to their perspective of what they are dealing with at school or among their peers. How much more easily your wisdom would prevail when they know you have respect for their view.

Even if you feel like you wish you had chosen your husband of wife differently, God knew how and why you would choose. He isn’t taken off guard and He knows how to use your choices to bring you to the place of your intended purpose, so let those close to you speak into your life and bring another perspective to the way you see things.

Miracles aren’t always about getting out of wheelchairs. There is a miracle that will start and rest in your home. God will heal broken relationships by the Spirit of understanding. The burden will be removed and the yoke will be destroyed!

I declare that your season of relationship traumas is OVER! My prayer for you today is that the Lord would grant you and your family a spirit of GRACE. I curse all strife, anger and selfishness. I declare there’s a healing taking place from long standing hurts and fall-outs and that the spirit of division will no longer have any part in your affairs.

You will once again delight in the wife of your youth. The hearts of the children will be turned to the fathers and there will be salvation at your house.

This is nice. I have always thought miracles are all about jumping out of wheel chairs. But we need miracles in different aspects of our lives.
