Saying “Goodbye” to the place called Average

2-14-16 3

The day you begin to despise instruction you automatically sign up for mediocrity! We have a generation that doesn’t want to be told anything or instructed. But the bible says in Proverbs 4:13 that we are to guard instruction because instruction is your life.

In Luke 6:46, Jesus asks a question, 46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Many Christians have no problem with having Jesus as their Saviour. Many people also have no problem with baby Jesus. We all love cute baby Jesus. We also love Jesus hanging on the cross.

But what we do have a challenge with is this Jesus who is not only a little cute baby, or one who is being crucified in weakness, we have a challenge with this Jesus who is Lord! This Jesus who is Lion of the tribe of Judah. The one who deserves our total devotion and our whole life!

Jesus is not just our Lord because He created us. Even though He deserves our devotion and our whole life by virtue of the fact that He created us, He demonstrated the reason why He deserves to be our Lord by giving His life for us. I am sure you will agree that anybody who can give their life up for you and me deserves our attention! So if He asks us to do something for Him, like walking in love, that is not asking too much, because He already demonstrated that He is interested in giving us the advantage by giving his life up for me!

Please accept this simple truth, Jesus is Lord. God is love and God is light. There is no fear in love. He loves us so perfectly that there is nothing in Him or in His instructions to us that should cause us to fear. His love guarantees that we will never be permanently left with something missing or broken by following his instruction.

Don’t be a believer in name only, but when it comes to making a practical decision, your reasoning rules out the possibility of obeying God. If that is how you operate in practice, you are the same as an atheist who believes there is no God. Your Christianity is still theoretical. You will never know true freedom until you bow, not just in words but in actions also, to the Lordship of Jesus! There is freedom from distress, freedom from worry, freedom from fear that comes upon you when you surrender to Jesus as Lord by obeying His instruction.

Obedience in not a dirty word in the New Covenant. Obedience is a demonstration of your love. Jesus told us in 1 John 5:3 says For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. When we obey, we demonstrate the love we profess. When we obey we will find that no instruction from our Lord Jesus, leaves us burdened. No, His commandments are not burdensome. His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Today I pray that you will step into the abundant Grace of God which enables you to hear God and empowers you to obey His instructions. I decree that your days of walking as a natural man are over. I declare that you have stepped into the realm of the supernatural. You have stepped into the realm where the impossible becomes possible! Through your willingness to yield to His instructions, you have now stepped into the best season of your life!
