Jeremiah 17: 5-8
“Cursed is the man who trusts in man
And makes flesh his strength,
Whose heart departs from the Lord.
For he shall be like a shrub in the desert,
And shall not see when good comes,
But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness,
In a salt land which is not inhabited.
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
There’s a way to live long and live strong, and to see real manifestations of God’s goodness consistently in your life. It’s going to be by the anointing.
Many people have a hard time trusting the anointing, because they are so used to operating in the arm of flesh.
If you get too impressed with yourself, and you are only dealing with issues that you can handle by reason of your education and your connections, you think you are strong, but you will find out that you are built for the vacation, and not for the storm!
Your real issues are not physical, because you are a spirit; and that is why the instruments by which we fight have to be spiritual, and not just natural.
The sickness you suffer from may not even be traceable to something physiological. There are people who don’t have anything to be depressed about but they can’t get their spirit above water. How can I be so young and healthy and still have no energy? How can I have everything and still get no joy out of it? The real issues in life are won in the spirit.
When Moses was fighting the Amalekites, the army was in the valley fighting and Moses went up to pray. All the time he had his arms lifted up in prayer, they were winning in the valley. They noticed that prayer brought them natural victory.
Why are we trying to win the war in the natural realm, when the issue is in the spirit?
Believers who make it their business to engage with the Holy Spirit and make fellowshipping with God a priority, will tap into the secret of coming out on top every time. Fruitfulness and productivity will be the hallmark of their life and no challenges will be great enough to completely knock them for six! We don’t get stranded like the world, because we have the Holy Ghost!
To actively engage Him from day to day, you have to wait on the Lord. He might not talk for an hour. You have to wait for Him, because He is God! He actually believes that He is sovereign!
Psalm 46 tells us, “Be still and know that I am God.”
God won’t talk much to you until you lose sight of all other things. We call that surrender. People can’t hear the voice of God because they are crowded. Their mind is distracted with texts that they want to answer and phone calls they want to make. They rush away from the place of being before God, but the fact is that He won’t talk to you when you want Him to talk to you.
Most people give up listening to God and pursuing the power of God, because nothing seems to be happening. They try to pray for sick people and it didn’t work, so they abandon their pursuit because it is too hard.
So people go to what is comfortable instead of pressing in on God and making more time for Him. Will you go past your comfort and the time you gave God? Take time to find out what works in the realm of the spirit.
I go there and tell Him, “Take your time.” Then He’s ready because I am not rushing Him. He will not share your life and your mind with another preoccupation. You won’t even get healed until you lose consciousness of the sickness.
Your conscious mind is so active and so strong. In fact your flesh is like a jar around your spirit. People don’t break through because they don’t break the jar to release the power in their spirit man.
This is the only way to break through into the supernatural realm, since the anointing is the person of Jesus. If you’re not in constant fellowship, you can’t release the power because the power is the person.
But when you begin to access that power and see the breakthroughs happening because of your focus on Him and your determination to trust in the supernatural power of God rather than your own limited resources, you begin to live at a whole different level. It’s worth the journey, because our true calling is to make disciples of ALL nations! We can’t do it alone, but with Him we will get the job done!
