For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ
It’s our destiny as believers to reign in life.
Many defeated Christians are trying hard to reign through their own efforts and feeling condemned that they are failing. But look at the way that you and I are going to reign: it will be by receiving an abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness!
Every person has a ceiling on their ability to receive. Depending on a lot of things, you will have an innate sense of how much, for you, it is acceptable to receive without having somehow earned it.
As human beings we like earning things, because it causes us to retain a sense of control. We had a part to play. We contributed something to the equation and our reward was in some degree obligated. It gives us a sense of importance and dignity.
On the other hand, we feel it is indecent to receive something for free. It goes against our natural sense of what is right.
But royalty doesn’t work to earn an income. Royalty is paid by reason of being royal.
We are kings and priests. God has raised us up to sit together with Him in a place of ruler ship.
Does that mean we quit going out to work? Of course not!
What it means is that we are not limited to what we earn on the job, since a tremendously costly price was paid for us to receive AN ABUNDANCE OF GRACE!
I dare you to release your faith to receive more than enough of things that you KNOW you don’t deserve, and that naturally speaking, you don’t even QUALIFY for. That is what it means to receive an abundance of grace.
It means that instead of trying to work for your healing by adhering to a strict regime of prayer and fasting, you simply lift up your hands, rest in His presence and let Him know, “Lord, I receive,” because HE has declared before Heaven and Earth that you are justified in doing so.
All the glory goes to Him!
