In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will
Did you know that God is not about to do a thing for you?
Why? Because He has already done it. We have ALREADY obtained an inheritance, and that includes houses, opportunities, anointings, favor, finances and everything else you could need or desire.
God knew that you couldn’t live life without some stuff, and so He already made provision for you.
Most people are trying to get things from God, but real Bible faith is about connecting to the reality of what already exists. Our inheritance is already prepared and ready for us, and according to Romans 8:32, having given us His Son, God is ready to release everything else to us as well.
We are supposed to have the very best. But it isn’t going to come into our lives by means of our hard work at behavior modification. Every time we hear instructions for correct behavior preached, our faith is diminished. We were never supposed to qualify by our own efforts; that is Old Covenant. Yet because most churches are places where we are constantly reminded of our failings and shortcomings, Christians are working hard but receiving very little.
If you ask many people what will hinder or block their faith, they would say sin. But the truth is that sin is dealt with. It is out of the way, judged in Jesus on the cross.
The trued hindrance to receiving is self effort. Immediately we try to earn it, our answer is cancelled because now we are trying to take credit for something by pointing to ourselves instead of allowing God to receive all the glory for what He has done for us.
The Covenant of “doing” is obsolete. The covenant of grace and or receiving can always be taken to the bank and exchanged for cash!
The devil doesn’t mind how many churches we have as long as they are preaching behavior modification. He knows that no one will get anything that way. He believes in allowing you to be immunized with enough religion so that you will have no appetite for relationship with Jesus Christ; just like when you have enough junk food to turn your appetites away from healthy food.
Have you been eating too much junk food in church? It’s time to develop a healthy hunger for the real thing!
