Colossians 1: 12
…giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love….
Something happens to the person who gets born again. He becomes qualified for an inheritance, yet the average believer is sleeping in the midst of a revolution. A newness came into our lives as we decided to place our trust in Jesus Christ – but are we living it?
Maybe we have a list of disqualification criteria; mistakes we have made, limitations of our education, family origins or situation in life, yet God says that these things don’t have the power to write us off since it was He Himself who qualified us!
He has delivered us from the power and authority of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love. We are no longer subject to demons and curses, no longer under the authority of sickness or lack. We have been loosed from the grip of those forces. Satan is not our Lord and master and we don’t have to focus on the laws that govern his operation, or yield to worry on an expectation that everything that can go wrong will go wrong – and at the worst possible time!
We have to decide that we are not going to particiapte in the trouble and heartache that is in the world. We have been disconnected from it. Just because there is a recession doesn’t mean we have to get involved in it. We live in the world, but, as believers, we are citizens of another order. The Kingdom of God is global, and since we have been transferred into it the day we accepted Jesus as our Lord, we must dare to understand that we now qualify to enjoy blessing in every area of our lives.
In Jesus there is peace – nothing missing and nothing broken, but in the world you will have trouble. I like to be whole and therefore I got born again because I found out that it is possible for me to be restored to wholeness.
Not yet born again? Let God usher you into His kingdom here on Earth. You will never be the same again!
